The Department of Soil and Water Conservation was established in 1964 in recognition of the importance to conserve the soil and water resources in the country. The graduate program of M.S. degree was initiated in 1974 and then Ph.D. program in 1987. This department is one of the sole departments in the whole country.

The undergraduate courses are divided into five major fields, which are fundamental courses, conservation of environment and ecology, water resource engineering, slopeland engineering and planning and design for soil and water conservation engineering.

Promoting the establishment of soil and water conservation research and information center in order to provide the information and technologies in the field of soil and water conservation.

Enlarging the department space in order to improve our teaching and research environment. Increasing the budget in order to by more precision instrument, books and journal.

Enhancing Research Extension and Cooperation

Coordination with the international science and technology promotion, we will recommend our colleague go abroad to do further study. In the mean while we will invite the erudite person joining our department in order to enhance our teachers' lineup. Encouraging teacher to participate the research plan and social service.
